Description
This beautiful rug is around 150 years old and is hand knotted from fine woollen warp and weft and coloured using natural dyes in browns, cream, yellow, red, blue and black. There are three rows of cream guls with geometric designs surrounding and sitting within geometric borders. It is a true tribal piece, hand knotted on a narrow transportable loom. The colours are still vibrant and the rug is extremely pliable and impressive.

condition
The pile is a little low in some areas, but the rug has generally worn very evenly and is in good overall condition. There is a very small rewoven repair at one end (please see photo 2) but apart from that the rug is in original condition. The reverse of the rug is shown in the final photo.Please inspect the photographs closely to assess the condition and quality of this striking tribal rug.
