Description
This antique runner comes from the Hamadan region of Western Persia, where rugs have been hand made for many centuries.
It has been hand knotted with wool weft on cotton warp and has a particularly narrow width, unusual for antique runners, but very useful for domestic narrow hallways and passages.
The runner has reds, cream, blues and browns and is arranged in three central diamond medallions within multiple borders. The dyes used are natural.
A beautiful antique rug which is also very practical.

The rug is around 90 years old and does have some low pile in places, but is generally in good condition with good natural colouring. Please inspect the photographs closely to assess the condition and quality of this impressive piece (the last two photos show the reverse of the rug).
