This is an antique lamp table. An English, ebonised mahogany occasional stool, side table or wine stand, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850. A richly toned and beautifully carved piece, offering superb decorative appeal. Fascinating early Victorian example with Chinoiserie influence. Select stocks, ebonised to a deep russet hue with a gently aged patina. Petal-shaped top with serpentine edge, hosting a matched rouge marble inlay. Apron and knees profusely carved with relief fruit and leaf forms. Pierced fretwork adorns the apron line between each leg for added visual depth. Elegant legs terminate in broad pad feet with carved leaf detail. The whole raised upon short circular toes for a composed Victorian stance.
