This is an antique master craftsman's retirement box. An English, rosewood and white metal celebration keepsake case, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900. Skilfully crafted with a charming celebratory plaque to the lid. Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Select stocks present fine grain interest and deep russet hues. Bright metal adorns each corner, with appealing tonality. Fascinating, unmarked plaque to the lid, with a mitre square, trowel and plumb bob motif. Lid opens to the interior, remaining upright upon a shaped sliding stay. Interior presented with a striking velvet lining, in a rich violet hue.
