Description
Antique sterling silver mounted faux tortoise shell celluloid pendant powder compact which measures 4.5 cm in diameter. The silver frame is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1924 and has the maker's mark SML for Samuel M. Levi.
The compact has a fixed bale at the top so that the case could be hung from a chain or chatelaine. The inset lid has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal the original clear and reflective convex mirror under the lid.
Offered in very good condition with tight closing lid, excellent mirror, no dents or dings to the silver parts and only light surface marks to the body.
