Antique Regency Mahogany Pembroke Table

A handsome antique mahogany Pembroke table, dating to around 1800–1830, from the Late Georgian / Regency period. The table has a rectangular central top with two drop leaves, allowing it to remain compact when not in use or open out to provide a much larger surface. It stands on four straight tapering legs and has a useful single drawer to one end. The drawer is well constructed with hand-cut dovetail joints visible to the lining. The dovetails are slightly irregular with narrow pins, consistent with traditional early 19th-century craftsmanship. A solid and well-made antique table with elegant proportions, suitable as an occasional table, side table, lamp table, breakfast table or compact dining table.
