Antique Shibayama Panel Hunting with Eagle

This is a stunning Japanese Meiji shibayama panel of great quality. The panel depicts a hunting scene with two men and a hawk in mountainous terrain. The detail of the piece is quite exquisite with different shades of bone, abalone and mother of pearl having been applied and painstakingly carved to give their garments and surroundings both colour and texture. The panel is in excellent order for its age and is framed within a later deep black lacquer frame which suits it very well.
