Description
Antique tall narrow four drawer chest of drawers, or filing cabinet, made around 1920 probably. It's mostly mahogany wood as far as I can see; hard to tell in places because it's been painted black. Brass military handles (they are inset into the drawer fronts), probably the originals. Locks on every drawer and one key: the bottom lock doesn't work; looks like it needs a new spring. Panelled sides; plinth below. The top appears to be a later replacement.

Barnaby's of Battle has clarified that the Antique Tall Narrow Chest of Drawers in Black Paint (LA585680) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1920s
condition
Condition is pretty good structurally: it's solid enough; a few minor splits and a repair to one side. Some old woodworm on the side but it's long gone; we treated the inside anyway, for good measure. Cosmetically there are various dings, scuffs and marks but nothing much: these are part of the slightly distressed look which the paint has been given. The frame colour is slightly different from the drawer fronts (see pics).
