Description
Antique traditional low pidha chair made in the Swat valley of Northern Pakistan probably, or the Nuristan region of Afghanistan, in the early 1900s most likely. Hardwood construction with geometric chip carvings and turned feet. Woven fibre seat; strip of hide between the two top posts. We have another similar one on here. Ask for a price for the two: delivery would be no extra. Dimensions: 47cm wide x 48cm x 73cm high (seat height 18cm)

declaration
Barnaby's of Battle has clarified that the Antique Traditional Low Pidha Chair Handmade in Pakistan Swat Valley (LA564743) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1900s
condition
Condition is fairly good: structurally it's pretty sound; a little movement in the back but not much. Some splits in the wood but stable. The odd broken strand in the seat. Cosmetically it has various dings, and scuffs etc but nothing out of place in the rustic style of the piece.
