Antique 19th century Victorian washstand in pine, a charming and characterful piece with a lovely dark stained finish, showcasing simple, honest country craftsmanship. The top is enclosed by a shaped three-quarter gallery fitted with a pair of small corner shelves, perfect for soaps and toiletries. Below, a useful undertier houses a single long drawer with a pair of turned wooden knobs. The washstand is raised on four elegant ring-turned legs, with the gallery sides gracefully shaped at the front. The pine has a deep, rich stained colour with a wonderful time-worn patina, with natural wear to the edges revealing the warm tone of the timber beneath. It is of neat, compact proportions, it makes a charming side table, bedside, plant stand or bathroom piece. Presented in good antique condition, with wear consistent with its age and use.
