An attractive and unusual large antique woodworking clamp, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Constructed with substantial hardwood jaws mounted upon a forged iron bar, this well made tool features a threaded wooden handled screw mechanism allowing precise pressure to be applied when securing timber during cabinetmaking, joinery, or other woodworking tasks. The clamp retains a rich aged patina to both the timber and ironwork, reflecting decades of workshop use. The adjustable lower jaw slides along the pierced iron bar and locks into position, enabling the clamp to accommodate workpieces of varying sizes.
