Art Deco Jewelled Filigree Gilt Metal & Guilloche Enamel Powder Compact c.1930

On offer is this most attractive Art Deco powder compact dating circa 1930 and measuring approx. 4.5cm in diameter. The compact is made of gilt metal with elaborately chased sides and plain base. The hinged lid has very decorative filigree metal design accented with alternating semi translucent pale blue glass cabochons and faux seed pearls. At the centre of the lid as an applied guilloche enamel circular plaque with pink cabbage roses on a electric blue ground. The case has firm hinge and secure clasp and opens to reveal the original bevelled glass mirror with rope twist frame under the lid. The deep powder well in the base is empty. This fine 1930s powder compact is offered in good condition with some normal signs of age and usage. The metal has some discolouration to the base as shown in the images. The lid has no wear and no missing stones. The internal mirror has some dark patches at the sides but otherwise retains a clear reflection. Thank you for looking.
