Art Deco La Mode Rouge & Powder Compact Vanity Case Guilloche Enamel 1930s

1930s La Mode vanity case measuring 5.5 cm square. The compact has a cushioned form and is made of silver tone metal with a light gold wash finish. The case has sleek black enamel panels to the base and lid which are arranged in a geometric, sunburst-like pattern typical of the art deco era. The guilloche enamel inset lid is in light mint green and white with hand painted flowers, consisting of pink roses, yellow blossoms, small blue forget-me-nots, and delicate green leaves. The case has firm hinge and very strong catch which is a little tricky to open. The powder well in the base is covered by a turning dial mechanism that can be left open, closed or on "sift" and there is a small clean puff. Under the lid is hinged double sided metal mirror which also acts as the door to the rouge compartment. This has the full contents of unused pressed rouge with silver foil covering marked La Mode. This Art Deco vanity case is offered in very good condition with no flaws found.
