Art Deco Powder & Rouge Compact Richard Hudnut Deauville Vanity Case 1920s

1920s Richard Hudnut "Deauville" powder compact made of chromium metal with machine turned wavy line pattern to the base. The inset lid has red and black champleve' enamel silhouette design. The case has secure catch and spring hinged opening. Under the lid the open rouge well with some original makeup remnants together with the original blue silk backed puff. On opening the spring hinged mirror pops open to access the powder well in the base. This has some powder remnants. The back of the mirrored door is Deauville Richard Hudnut Made in USA and has a patent number. This fine Art Deco vanity case measures 6.3cm in diameter and is offered in very good condition. These Hudnut accessories are prone to damage to the cold painted enamel, but this one has no loss to the enamel silhouette. The chrome metal is untarnished. The mirror is clear and reflection and the case has no dents or dings. Thank you for looking.
