Art Deco Stratnoid Foil Backed Geisha Lady Picture Powder Compact Circa 1930

On offer is this attractive Stratnoid powder compact which measures approx. 5.3 cm in diameter. The case is made of chrome metal and has attractive machine turned pattern to the base. The base is also marked along the bottom edge Made in England. The lid has a wonderful picture of a Geisha lady holding a fan and standing with mountain and lake backdrop. The picture is reverse printed under a protective celluloid covering and mounted on sparkling blue foil which provides the colour for the background sky and the waters of the lake. The case has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a clear and reflective framed mirror under the lid. The powder well in the base is covered by a rotating disc and is marked Reg Design No. 767188 Stratnoid Made in England. This compact is offered in good condition. The exterior has perfectly clean chrome metal, no dents or dings and the picture lid has excellent retained, bright colours and shimmering foil. The fixed covering over the powder well has tarnish.
