Description
On offer is this most attractive English powder compact fully hallmarked to the inside of the powder well for Birmingham 1938 with the maker's mark for the silversmith, Adie Brothers. This powder compact measures 8 cm in diameter and has solid silver base with fine machine turned pattern. The lovely lid has pure white guilloche enamel with baby pink enamel and silver border and features a motif of budding and full bloom pink rambling roses with foliage and stems. This compact has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a clear and reflective, framed glass mirror under the lid. The open powder well in the base is empty of powder and retains the original sifter.

This fine powder compact is offered in very good condition with no chips, cracks or flaking to the guilloche enamel and I cannot see any scratches either. Any white marks in the images are camera glare and not damage. The silver body is clean and untarnished. Thank you for looking.
