A beautiful Edwardian peridot and seed pearl necklace, dating to circa 1910 and finely handcrafted in 15ct gold. The necklace is wonderfully elegant in design, with a horizontal bar-form centrepiece set with a bright circular-cut lime green peridot. Delicate creamy white seed pearls are arranged symmetrically to either side, giving the necklace a soft and very feminine appearance. From the centre hangs a slender knife-edge gold bar, further decorated with seed pearls and terminating in an articulated pear-shaped peridot drop. The lower peridot has a particularly attractive fresh green colour and moves gently when worn, catching the light beautifully. The gemstones are finely collet set with delicate millegrain detailing, while the seed pearls provide a lovely contrast against the warm tone of the gold. Suspended from a fine curb-link chain, this charming necklace sits beautifully at the base of the neck and has all the delicacy and fluidity associated with jewellery of the Edwardian and Art Nouveau period.
