Barber's Hot Towel Steriliser

A striking mid-century barber's hot towel steriliser, retaining its original reverse-painted glass sign reading "HOT STERILIZED TOWELS". Originally used in traditional barbershops and gentlemen's grooming establishments, these machines were designed to heat and sterilise towels prior to shaving and other grooming treatments. Constructed in polished chrome-plated metal, the steriliser features its original hinged loading door, tap handles, water level sight glass, and pipework connections. The simple yet purposeful design reflects the practical commercial equipment produced during the post-war period, while the surviving glass sign provides a wonderful period advertising element. Today, pieces such as this are highly sought after for their decorative appeal and make excellent display items for barbershops, retail interiors, film sets, restaurants, and industrial-inspired interiors.
