Description
This is an iconic 3-band Musket by Enfield. Dated 1870 with Tower stamp. These were widely used in conflicts such as the American Civil War and the Indian Rebellion of 1857, and were an important part of the evolution of firearms technology during the 19th century.
This rifle has a 38-inch barrel and would have fired a .577 calibre Minié ball, which was a conical-shaped bullet that expanded upon firing to fit the rifling grooves in the barrel. This was used to increase accuracy and range.
This Enfield 3-Band Musket depicts excellent historical significance and craftsmanship.
Condition
This 3-band rifle is in excellent condition with some minor surface knocks and scratches. It can still be cocked and dry-fired. Please see pictures for more detail. Offering free UK delivery reference DBSD5
