A rare Victorian antique (c.1890) ‘The Popular Paper Knife’.
The blade is printed with Inland Postal Information, detailing historic British domestic postal rates for letters, newspapers, postcards, books, parcels and telegrams, together with money order rates to destinations throughout the world.
It is also a ruler, printed with scales in both inches and centimetres, together with useful imperial and metric conversion tables, making it a practical desk tool
A fascinating survivor from the late Victorian period, reflecting the postal services and everyday office reference information of the time.
