Description
Unusual neat, small table box veneered “all round” outside in a burr wood…probably Walnut. It has a fully working push button operated catch / lock made by the prestigious American company of Eagle Lock Co. The lock is stamped (see photo) as is its original matching key! Once the button is pressed a spring loaded catch raises the lid automatically…90 degree “stop” hinges. No indication if the box was actually made in America or the lock “bought in”. Inside there is a removable “caddy” type tray, very well made with integral handle.
Used for..?…
Also veneered on the base. Some natural discolouration to the veneer over the years as to be expected, please see photos. Probably made c.1900/1910.
Additional photographs and information available on request. FaceTime facility available.
Please be aware that the item is old and antique and study any photographs to satisfy yourself as to its condition as much as possible.
While we take all efforts to provide something that is fit for the use intended there many be various condition issues that are commensurate with age and considered part of its history, and are very subjective.
However, you have legal rights and Consumer Contract Regulations (2014) still apply for “Distance Selling “ if this is not a “face-to-face” purchase.
