C19th French Porcelain Snuff Underglaze Lille 1763 Lovers

You are viewing a beautiful French oval snuff or patch box with hand-painted design throughout. The design includes two lovers on the lid and red roses throughout. The underside is painted with the words Lille 1763, although this is probably an early 19th century piece, and the date is probably a retrospective hommage. The oval box measures about 5 centimeters long and 3 cms tall and weighs about 45 grams. Condition is good with no chips or cracks. Traces of glue and soiling around the edges of the metal mounts on the inside of the box. Otherwise minor wear and tear only. It's a charming box which would make a romantic present.
