Carousel Shaped Coromandel & Ebony Cigar Dispenser Humidor c.1880

This cigar box has been made in the shape of a merry-go-round using beautifully grained coromandel and black ebony wood. The base and cap are embellished with ornate pressed metal beading, the knob has the beading around the base. The doors are all fitted with a diamond of a blonde wood to the exterior. On the top is a knob that you turn to open and close the doors to access the cigars, sadly one door has become disconnected from the mechanism. There are 6 doors each fitted with gilt brass fittings to hold three cigars.
