Description

A fine etching of a sailing ship at anchor, with other shipping, including a tugboat bringing in another sailing ship and a rowing boat to the foreground. A pleasing and nicely composed piece. Signed "Chas H Clark", lower right. Believed to be Charles Herbert Clark (b.1890) who studied at the City School of Art, Liverpool and at the Royal Academy Schools, London. He exhibited regularly at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and at the Royal Academy. Early 20th century.
