Very nice decorative Rococo style gilt framed mirror wonderful value in this mirror. A very nice and pleasant organic shape to this mirror. Date stamped on the mirror to 1957. In its original condition and thought to originate from Belgian or possibly France. The crest is charming the way it protrudes from the top to give it a certain dominance to the room and wall. Decorated with a gorgeous crest of leaves and a shell nestled in the centre. The central border of the frame has an deep green paint finish bordered by the gilt. Rococo is a ornamental and theatrical style encompassing art, architecture and decorative pieces. Often characterized by soft scrolling curved lines, gilding, sculptured moldings, nature and drama. Which is seen in many pieces throughout this era in the 17th & 18th centuries in France and then spreading throughout the world.
