For sale is this well-executed pencil drawing of a coastal town probably somewhere in The United Kingdom. From the style of clothes the figures are wearing and the ships in the harbour, I would guess that this was drawn sometime around 1820 to 1830. The fort on top of the hill overlooking the town looks like it has a pallisade surrounding it so it is possible this was drawn during the time of the Napoleonic wars. The drawing measures about 9 x 11 inches and weighs 28 grams. It is drawn on a thin card which is magnolia or cream in colour. The drawing is in good condition with no tears or folds. A couple of minor scratches and some staining especially verso.
