Edwardian Mahogany Inlaid Striking Mantel Clock c.1900

A charming Edwardian mahogany inlaid mantel clock, dating from circa 1900, featuring an elegant arched case, decorative geometric wood inlay and a traditional mechanical pendulum movement with bell strike. The attractive mahogany case features a gently rounded top, fine contrasting wood stringing and a distinctive geometric diamond motif to the front. The clock stands on a moulded stepped plinth base with small rounded feet. The circular silver-toned dial features black Roman numerals and distinctive hands, enclosed within an ornate brass bezel with a hinged glazed door. The clock is fitted with a French-type brass mechanical movement, numbered 1872, incorporating a pendulum and traditional bell striking mechanism. The clock is in full working order, including the movement and bell strike. Accurate timekeeping cannot be guaranteed, and some adjustment or servicing may be required following transportation, as is common with antique mechanical clocks. The case is in good antique condition, retaining an attractive colour and finish, with minor surface marks, scratches and general age-related wear. The dial and brass fittings display natural patina consistent with age.
