Description
A gorgeous Edwardian flower themed pot-pourri box in the Art Nouveau taste. The body and lid are of hallmarked silver with a 'waisted' body. The fabulous lid is pierced and engraved with foliate motifs. To the centre is a stunning mother-of-pearl insert, representing a pansy. The pull off lid opens to reveal a fully gilded interior.
Pot-pourri boxes were beloved in Victorian and Edwardian times. Filled with scented petals or herbs, they were used to fragrance cupboards or clothing drawers. A charming piece, still practical today.
