Exceptional Victorian Burr Walnut Jewellery Box

This is a stunning mid 19th Century (c.1860) Victorian antique burr walnut dome-topped jewellery box, veneered all round in some of the finest burr walnut we have ever seen with the same quality used on the back & sides. To the top is a central decorative engraved brass escutcheon, to the front a matching keyhole escutcheon. The box has been re-lined in a luxurious purple silk velvet. The engraved hinges and lock retain their original gilt finish. It has a working lock & tassled key.
