A rare example of mid 18th Century craftsmanship. This is a fabulous George II silver snuff box with mother-of-pearl panels to the lid and the base. The body is rounded and opens via a hinged lid. The mother-of-pearl in the lid is decorated and carved in a gorgeous depiction of Fairies in clouds, with silver studs to represent stars. To the front is an engraved name. Very good with no dents or splits to the silver. The lugs are showing some age and slight signs of old repair, as shown in photo and commensurate with age and use.
