Fine 19th Century Doe & Rogers Worcester Porcelain Tray / Plaque

A very attractive and finely decorated 19th-century Worcester porcelain tray or plaque by Doe & Rogers, circa 1830–1840. The tray is of lobed rectangular form, with pierced moulded corners and rich gilt decoration. The deep green ground frames a beautifully hand-painted central floral panel, composed of English garden flowers in pink, white, blue and magenta tones, set against a dark background. The flowers are enclosed within an ornate ivory and gilt scroll cartouche, giving the piece a particularly refined cabinet quality. The reverse is inscribed Doe & Rogers, 17 High Street, Worcester. Doe & Rogers were a respected Worcester decorating partnership, known for finely painted porcelain, coloured grounds and sophisticated gilded ornament.
