Fine William Tonks & Sons Brass Inkwell Registered Diamond for 1883 Double Inkstand

Fine example of a high late 19th Century Victorian antique brass double inkwell, by the sought-after manufacturer William Tonks & Sons. It is of unusual design with twin inkwells either side of a central candlestick that is supported by two winged beasts, all on ornate base with folate and fretwork detail. Very well cast, finished and detailed. The inkwells have pottery liners. The underside of the body bears the manufacturer's trademark W.T&S with sunburst logo, and the registration Diamond mark dating the design to 10th March 1883.
