This majestic barograph, wider and taller than a traditional style instrument would have been the top of the range model by well-known makers, Short & Mason, London, circa 1925. The last picture illustrates this example on the right with a standard version on left (and also available).
The case in highly polished mahogany has radiused corners, matching ornate carved framework to the lift-off lid and deep bevelled glass. The two-compartment chart drawer to the base has a hinged brass drop handle and the style is continued to the substantial support feet. The fully operational aneroid movement and the weekly clock are all finished in the original lacquer.
This barograph will make a lovely gift for any special occasion and would grace any location, domestic or office, as a centrepiece.
A quantity of charts is included together with a fresh bottle of special blue or red recording ink and a reprinted pamphlet by Negretti & Zambra Ltd., describing operating instructions and how to interpret typical chart recordings.
