Fob 1867 Victorian Browns Patent Pocket Watch Chain Fob

Victorian Gentleman's very unusual Antique 'Brown's Patent' pocket watch chain fob. C ~Dated 1867. Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. (Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was extremely difficult to photograph). Measures; 9.2cm height (including the chain & top ring), 3.5cm width and weighs 4.4 grams. Unusual shaped fob which looks to be made from pressed steel with a black enamel overlay which is stamped to the front in slightly raised script; Brown'S . Patent and is dated; 1867. I first thought this was an early pocket watch case opener but as the metal has some flex I suspect not. Robust secure original fancy link steel chain with large steel top ring (sealed link) to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with no damage and just a tiny bit of light overall wear/patina/surface scratches commensurate with age.
