Fob 1887 Victorian Pocket Watch Chain Antique The Waterbury Puzzle Queen Victoria Fob

Victorian Gentleman's very unusual antique 'The Queen's Jubilee Puzzle' pocket watch chain steel fob. Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. (Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was extremely difficult to photograph). Measures; 5.8cm height (including the top ring), 3.6cm width and weighs a heavy 19.5 grams. Very unusual and rare promotional fob which was made by The Waterbury Watch Co., to commemorate Queen Victoria's Jubilee. Stamped to the front with the image of Queen Victoria to centre and around the circumference is stamped in slightly raised script; The Queen'S Jubilee Puzzle and carries the dates of her reign at the time; 1935 - 1887. The back is stamped around the circumference (again in slightly raised script); The Waterbury Watch and is stamped to centre; Perfect Time Keeper 10/6 (this would have been the price of the watch - ten shillings and sixpence) and carries to top a registration number; Rd No 65340. Still retains the original large brass puzzle ring (open link but is made not come off) - the idea of this was to see if you can get it through each hole of the fob which is not easy due to the raised scrolled decoration to each side and I have not managed to get it through every one (yet). Robust secure original brass top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with no damage, most of the gilding has worn away over the years with people trying to solve the puzzle and just a bit of light overall wear/patina/surface scratches commensurate with age.
