Exceptional French Tramp Art Crucifix1912 "Très doux Jésus, ne soyez pas mon Juge, mais mon Sauveur" "Most sweet Jesus, be not my Judge, but my Saviour." A unique large wooden Crucifix from the early 1900s France. Traditional construction, layer of wooden notched strips from reclaimed wood. Base with hollow construction raised on triangle feet. Jesus statue is made out of hollow soft metal. 94.5cm in total height, 48.5cm at its widest (cross).Base is 30cm at its height, 40cm at its widest and 20cm at its deepest The intricate design and craftsmanship of this original piece make it a lovely decoration and sought after antique for collectors of tramp art and treen. The antique tramp art showcases the struggles and resilience of the period. Crucifix is showing age with imperfections, wear and tear, signs of old woodworm (not active).
