George Hamilton Constantine Watercolour - Haymaking at Dusk

George Hamilton Constantine (1878-1965) was a Sheffield painter of landscapes with figures and seascapes. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. He did not need to exhibit his works widely as there was a steady demand for it from dealers here and New York. In the 1930s he became an assistant to Sir William Rothstein who was Professor of Civic Art at Sheffield University.
