George III Irish Mahogany Wake Dining Table

Outstanding quality, very large antique George III Irish mahogany wake/dining table. Original oiled and wax mahogany top with two oval drop leaves, double gate-leg on 8 square moulded legs with thumbnail edged detail. Amazing colour, patina and being one of very few wake tables of this size (258 cm –101.5"). Original condition, having a number of historical repairs to the legs/undercarriage as appropriate to age (see photos). Seats 12. Provenance; Acquired via Rose Castle Cumbria. Previously belonging to the Bishop of Tonbridge 1968-1972 and the Bishop of Carlisle 1972-1989.
