An exceptional example of a George III mahogany military campaign writing slope from the 19th Century. The writing slope is brassbound with brass military handles to the sides, a side drawer that runs the length of the box that works of a locking pin to the inside and a fully working lock and tasselled key. Featuring a reading lectern that can be placed on the to of the box and is stored to the back of the inside lid. Open the box to reveal a red releathered writing surface a nib slope, pen slope with section underneath, lidded compartment and two inkwell sections with original inkwells. A section is located to the back of the inside lid for paperwork and another section underneath the writing slope featuring three secret drawers which work by putting pressure on the corner of the nib slope.
