Description
A fine piece of George III furniture, this English mahogany and oak lowboy dates to around the end of the 18th century.
- One long above three drawers, all with cockbeaded fronts.
- Decoratively shaped apron.
- Cabriole legs with pad feet at the front, with square section legs at the back.
- Brass swan neck handles.
- Attractively shaped front corners on the top, with reeded edge detail.
A true antique, this will look wonderful in any home. It continues to provide functional storage and display space alongside the character of a piece which is around 250 years old.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There is a split in the wood across the back of the mahogany top which has a lightened band beneath it, possibly from sun damage. The sides have some colour dappling which can be seen in the photographs. This is all consistent with long use and the piece is in generally good order, ready for the home.
