Description
An unusal George III silver mounted inkstand by Thomas Daniell, featuring four pounce pots and inkwells with silver mounts, mounted on Bristol blue and clear cut faceted glass bodies. Standing on ebony stand with silver carrying handle. With engraved dedication to William Gomm (1747-1831), Rector of Bramdean, Hants and Elizabeth Gomm.
All pieces hallmarked with lion passant and makers mark.
The glass bottles have sustained wear and tear from the passage of time, with chips and knocks as illustrated, however the whole piece presents very well.
