George IV Satinwood & Ormolu Writing Table

This superb quality table is in the French taste but is in fact English and dates from the first quarter of the 19th century. It stands on cabriole legs with ormolu mounts to the toes and frieze. The satinwood is beautifully figured and is further enhanced by the ormolu molding. The right end has a single drawer with the original lock and key. The cross banded top has a vellum green leather inset writing surface.
