This is a Georgian hop & barley engraved plain stem ale glass dating from the turn of the 18th/19th centuries, c1800. The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot consistent with some 200 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the foot. The glass has a funnel bowl measuring 6.2 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is engraved with a single hop and a pair of barley ears in saltire (crossed) to the reverse. The bowl sits on an extruded plain stem that leads to a conical, folded foot which measures 6.8 cm (2.7 inches) in diameter. The glass is 13.7 cm (5.5 inches) in height. It weighs 108 g. (~ 3 3/4 oz.). There are no chips, cracks, other significant scratches or any obvious signs of restoration. English lead glass. Quote item 4948f
