Georgian Mahogany Grandfather Longcase Clock Strike Silent

Good quality 18th Century antique mahogany grandfather longcase clock with 8-day movement by John Tucker of Portsmouth (pre 1776-1795). It has brass bound lead weights. Solid mahogany case of typical Georgian Elegance with long trunk door, dentil design to the hood and inlaid columns. It also has a lock to both the hood and trunk doors with a working key. All raised on bracket feet. The clock notes the hours on a crisp clear bell but also benefits from a strike - silent lever. The quality brass dial with silvered chapter ring, strike/silent dial and seconds dial which has a "compass" star design. Fine quality Gilt Spandrels.
