Richard Northen (or sometimes Northern) was Working at Lowgate Hull circa 1780-1840. So, had a long Career with both Clocks & Also Barometers. He must have been an Important Clockmaker in the area as, Not only is His Name Scribed on the Dial But in the Centre of the Hood Padoga is a Large N. One would surmise that the owners of the Clock wanted visitors to know they had a “Richard Northen” Clock. 18th Century Folk were just like people who today might wear Nike Trainers, Drive Mercedes Cars or Must have the latest mobile phone. Height Without finial 90in or 229cm With finial 96.5in or 245 Width 50cm Depth 25cm The Case is Sound and Solid of Good Light Honey Oak Colour, Attractive Graining & Patina.
