A gorgeous silver & cut glass vanity jar from the start of the George V era. This quality piece would have been for use on a dressing table to hold pins, clips and other small items. The silver lid has engine turned decoration with the name Rok engraved to the cartouche. The interior of the lid is gilded and the oval glass body is panel cut. Quality items such as these were often made and sold by famous retails and this example comes from J C Vickery of Regent St. London. A fine piece with a practical use.
Jeff Sims Antiques has clarified that the Gorgeous Silver & Cut Glass Vanity Jar (LA222036) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1911
