Superb work, mid 18th century based on the famous work “The Dying Gaul The Dying Galatian became one of the most celebrated works to have survived from antiquity, and was engraved and endlessly copied by artists, for whom it was a classic model for depiction of strong emotion, the figure has some blemishes of time but what a stunning piece, the works in a superb choice of marble, length being 48cm height of 32cm depth 20cm.
