Alison lives in a small village in Cambridgeshire and has been involved in the antiques trade for thirty years. A qualified auctioneer, she has a BA Hons in Valuation of Fine Art and Chattels and has worked in a London auction house and for The Potteries Museum as well as exhibiting at fairs in London and East Anglia.

Description
A handsome example of a cut glass Victorian tea caddy bowl. Included in wooden tea caddies, these bowls were sometimes mistakenly thought to be for sugar. In fact, they are for mixing tea leaves as the caddies frequently contained both black and green tea. This fine example has a raised pedestal foot with a polished pontil. The sides have geometric and notch cutting and this is repeated around the rim.
A desirable piece with practical uses outside of its original purpose.
