St James Collectables

Each piece in my collection is chosen for its craftsmanship, authenticity, and quiet sense of history. I specialise in antique silver, maritime objects, property of a gentleman and late 19th century as well as early 20th century designs, curating items that tell the story of refined leisure and skilled workmanship.
These are objects made to be used, admired, and handed down—each one a small testament to the artistry and precision of its era.

Description
An elegant vintage Hermès Paris porcelain ashtray, beautifully decorated with a richly gilded central panel depicting an Oriental equestrian scene featuring a mounted horseman and attendant.
The broad border is embellished with an intricate geometric pattern in warm gold tones, framed by four sculptural cigarette rests and finished with a polished gilt rim.
Originally designed as a luxury ashtray, this exceptional piece now serves equally well as a decorative vide-poche or catchall for jewellery, watches, keys or other treasured objects.
The underside retains its original protective felt covering, while the side bears the Hermès Paris label, confirming its authenticity.
The almost fully gilded interior is more expensive to produce than the white-ground designs and subsequently makes this a rarer and more colelctable item
