Inlaid Rosewood Bonheur Du Jour

A splendid and pretty late 19th century inlaid rosewood bonheur du jour, or escritoire. With a pull down flap (lockable , key supplied) which opens to reveal a fitted interior and a writing slope fitted with its original material writing surface. The base section with a single drawer, scrolling legs united by an under-tier and terminating in original brass and ceramic castors. Decorated with inlaid stringing throughout in boxwood. Further embellished with a profuse floral marquetry panel in satinwood, boxwood and mother or pearl.
